Shape of the Page
- I will not be printing these documents so I do not have to worry about printing in black on low-gloss white paper; however, all of the font is in black.
- Including page numbers may be useful since there are multiple pages to this document, so I will add those. I do not see a need for a header or footer.
- A horizontal grid style will be used and I will ensure all headings and script line up accordingly.
- There is a lot of white space on my documents; however, once I add visuals and adjust their sizes, I want to ensure the white space is appropriate to create areas of emphasis.
- Line spacing and margins- I will need to go back through my document and make sure line spacing is consistent between instructions, steps and visuals.
- Line length- my lines are currently very short and concise, but I plan on adding more detail. I will need to ensure I don't make too long lines, which makes it harder for the reader.
Style of the words and letters
- I will keep my font consistent throughout the document using a formal typeface.
- Headings and important words will be in bold.
Appropriate emphasis
- I will add some boldface to emphasize important parts of my instructions.
Helpful Headers
- I will go back through my document and change headings to be visually consistent and grammatically parallel. I will change the font of my headings to be larger than the instructions/steps and ensure I include appropriate spacing.
